Last week I posted a “how to” on butter making. Today I will just go one step ahead, and post on making ghee. Ghee is just boiled butter. If you have made butter already, now it is time to turn some of it into ghee. Just put the butter in a heavy bottom pan, heat for 20 minutes and the ghee is ready. This is easy.
My son absolutely loves ghee. He loves to eat his rice with ghee and lentils. The smell of homemade ghee is divine. The ghee you get in the market are so fake and impure, that it can harm you badly. Whereas, a good ghee is good fat, especially for kids. So for my son I make ghee every month. I turn all the butter into ghee, as we don’t use butter apart from baking. Hence all the butter turns into beautiful ghee, which has more audience in my household.
