I asked Tilat to give me 5 basic tricks for a day makeup. As day makeup can be tricky, the constant battle between looking great and keeping it low key is my greatest fear. Whenever I makeup for a day event I get puzzled. So here, our favorite Tilat Khayer gives us 5 basic tips for a day makeup, how to make it last through your daily chores and how to look neat. I hope you will be as benefited by these tricks as I was.

Match your foundation to your skin tone

Use the correct shade of foundation, as, when you get the base right, the rest of the make-up automatically falls into place. Too many people use a lighter foundation than their true skin tone thinking that it will make them appear fairer when in actual fact, it gives a grey tint to their skin making them look more aged. Avoid a caked up look and remember to mix your moisturiser with your liquid foundation to get a more natural yet flawless look.

Make the lipstick colour stay throughout the day

To prevent feathering of lips, blot with tissue after applying your lip liner and lipstick. To make sure that the lip colour lasts throughout the day, set the colour by holding a tissue over lips and lightly dusting translucent powder on top.

Hide those dark circles

Applying concealer under your eyes and in the inner corners next to your nose automatically brightens your face. Personally, I find it easier to blend with my finger than using a brush as the heat from one’s fingers makes it easier to blend the product in to the skin.

Define your eyes

Mascara looks great on everyone and makes enough impact that you can skip other eye makeup. Work from the base of lashes to the tip, remembering to roll the brush—it’s the easiest way to separate lashes and avoid clumps.

Tip: Use a lash curler before applying mascara for a more dramatic effect.

Open Up Your Eyes with white eyeliner

To make your eyes appear bigger and brighter, use a white eyeliner pencil and line the inside rim of your lower eyelid. If your eyes are a close set, use the white pencil to lightly line the inner corner of your eyes. This will make them appear wider apart. The key here is to make sure it’s subtle.
