Discovering aromatherapy !


Aromatherapy is actually a part of my daily ritual. I either put it in my bath, or infuse in water to battle the daily stress and at times massage for special needs. The invigorating smell works like magic. Many people I met say, it is all in my head and actually aromatherapy doesn’t do any good to me. However I would rather take an aromatherapy massage for my headache than taking a pain killer.

Be it soap, incenses, candles, bath, inhalation or room spray my one and only refuge is the aromatherapy essences. These days my husband too got hooked into it. On tough days he comes back home and asks for a aromatherapy bath or massage. I use it to heal minor issues like headache, body ache, fever, cold, fatigue, hair care or facial etc. I wish I could open an aromatherapy centre in Dhaka, a place that will relax and heal people at the same time.

However it is very essential to know the proper method of using aromatherapy. Regular research, reading and practice makes it perfect. I always carry a bible of aromatherapy with me. Blending is very important and has to be maintained with highest caution as mistakes can lead to serious troubles. If you are willing to try essential oils always remember, you have to dilute it either with other carrier oil or water, never straight on the skin.

Once in a while I will post various aromatherapy recipes for you to try. But you can start with little drops of lavender oil to relax your senses. Take 4 drops of lavender oil and mix it with 10 drops of organic coconut oil or almond oil and massage on your neck and earlobe for a good night sleep or put water in the diffuser and put few drops of lavender oil and burn it, keep it in your room at night and sleep.
