    Delightful disclosures

May 2, 2020 - By Aziza Ahmed Paula

I do not know if this is being politically right or wrong, nevertheless, living in home, locked down for almost two months, has been one of my most rewarding experiences. I spent literally 24/7 with my son as I used to when he was a little baby, in my arms. But this time it is better, as he communicates, responds, protests, accepts and participates. Durga Puja Festival

October 12, 2015 - By Aziza Ahmed Paula

[ Durga Puja Festival ] I am a person who enjoys every festival that takes place on earth. In Bangladesh, we get to celebrate the Muslim and Hindu festivals more. Durga Puja Festival is something that makes me happy instantly. When I was young my maternal grandmother’s house used to be in old Dhaka, a place called Hatkhola. There was a school called Narishikkha Mandir just beside my cousin’s house. As the boundary wall was half broken we could always go to the school without any permission. Especially on Puja days we used to go and enjoy the festivities. Old…

    Sharat… or Early Autumn…

August 15, 2015 - By Aziza Ahmed Paula

Have you looked at the sky today? Isn’t it the brightest of all. I see a bright blue sky with white harmless clouds passing through with nice gentle breeze. In other words it is called Early Autumn or Sharat in Bangla. We Bengali people are blessed with six different seasons unlike the western world that has only four. Our autumn is divided into two seasons, early autumn and late autumn. The first part which is early autumn is Sharat. In Bangla calendar the months Bhadra and Ashwin are together Sharat, from 15 August to 15 October. Though there are sudden…

    Beautiful Nepal

July 1, 2015 - By Aziza Ahmed Paula

I have been longing to write on my tour to Nepal last year around this same time. As I got burnt badly after we returned, and lost a dear cousin, I guess I never got the grip back but until very lately. Nepal tour was a very special tour we took as a family. As much as I love to travel alone and see things in my own way, I love to travel with my son. I love to see the wonders in his eyes that we have already discovered. Little questions, surprises and his big experiences make our trip…
